In 1998 Mr. Sidenko and his wife set up a farming company called “Vlasnyk”. They began growing corn and oil-bearing crops on 50 hectares of land. In 2003 Mr. Sidenko built his first greenhouse; in 2004 he renovated the existing greenhouse and built another five, with a total surface area of 0.5 hectares, in order to grow early tomatoes. In this way, the farmer gradually switched to growing vegetables, and invested additional funds in setting up an irrigation system.
